5 Wedding Trends for 2018

15th December 2017

Whether you are looking for flower wedding trends of 2018 or perhaps popular wedding dress styles and themes or even designing your wedding around the 2018 pantone colours, we've got it covered in our one stop guide to what's on trend this year...

Wedding Trend 2018 #1 | Transparent Elements

See-through settings and venue decor will become hugely popular in 2018. Clear glasshouses, perspex hanging signage, transparent invitations, glass tables, floor to ceiling windows and even 'ghost' chairs are all examples of the see-through details we will see during 2018. This is a trend that will continue throughout 2018 and into 2019 as it looks great no matter what the season. A fantastic style choice for minimalist couples who like non-fussy decor with a stylish scandi influence.

Wedding Trend 2018 #2 | Ultra Violet

Pantone has just announced their colour of the year for 2018 - Ultra Violet, which always plays a big part in wedding trends! Previous shades have included Rose Quartz (2016) and Greenery (2017), both of which were hugely popular! Incorporating this gorgeous shade of purple into your florals, wedding stationary, bridesmaids dresses and wedding party accessories will ensure your wedding is on-trend. Why not mix and match a few purple shades for a chic look.

Wedding Trend 2018 #3 | Casual Catering

The traditional 3 course wedding breakfast is on it's way out. Couples are opting for a more casual style of dining with a focus on food they love, if you can't have your favourite food on your wedding day, when can you?! From sharing feasts such as antipasti platters to festival style wood fired pizza vans and even sushi bars! This enables the happy couple and their guests to sit (or stand) where they like without structured table plans, allowing more time for conversation and catching up with friends or family. With this style of wedding catering a prosecco van or a 'pull your own' beer stand would fit in perfectly!

Wedding Trend 2018 #4 | Table Florals & Wreaths

Loose florals have been extremely popular throughout 2017 (browse this trend in our 5 Wedding Trends for 2017 post) and we are set to see this trend continue well into 2018 with table florals and wreaths. These low table decorations and centrepieces allow your guests to freely see each other and the venue, without table clutter! Simply add candles or lanterns to these table flowers to give your venue a real wow factor. If your having round tables instead of a long table layout you can still create this look by using the centre as a focal point and perhaps adding greenery around the table settings.

Wedding Trend 2018 #5 | Relaxed Wedding Dresses

Relaxed wedding dresses are perfect for boho inspired or summer weddings. The unstructured style and lightweight material allows the bride to move around freely on their big day without their dress weighing them down - they're also perfect for dancing! Grace Loves Lace has some gorgeous boho style dresses. Add a gorgeous floral garland or loose flowers in your hair to complement your dress!
