How To Decorate Your Home For Autumn & Halloween

15th October 2019

Can you believe it's October already? Unbe-LEAFable! Whilst you get into your winter knits, bobble hats and cosy up with a hot chocolate by the fire, here at The Daffodil we’ve rounded up our top 5 decor tips to get your home ready for fall.

AUTUMN HOME DECOR TIP #1 | Liven Up Your Outdoor Space

Autumn Outdoor Decor

Just because summer's over doesn't mean you can't still make the most of that extra outdoor area! An autumn wreath is the perfect way to give your porch a little flair, whilst a munchkin display can frame the pathway or stairs. Looking to add a little Halloween spookiness? We think a door matt is the perfect way to do this without having to hang anything too scary. This 'I Put A Spell On You' or 'Hey There Pumpkin' doormat would look brilliant!

AUTUMN HOME DECOR TIP #2 | Add Knits, Rugs & Throws

Autumn Cosy Blankets

Autumn is all about making a room feel more cosy, and throws, cushions and rugs are perfect for adding warmth to a space. We'd recommend a luxurious, fluffy rug which will make you feel like you're walking on cloud! In the living room or bedroom, switch out your cushions for golden or orange hues for a pop of colour.

AUTUMN HOME DECOR TIP #3 | Let There Be Light!

Autumn Lighting

Add seasonal scented candles to your living spaces such as your lounge, hall way or dining room. Maple Pumpkin, Apple Picking or Autumn Morning would be perfect for giving a long lasting scent throughout your home. Experiment with coloured tapered candles this fall and introduce golden or dark shades, mix and match your candlestick holders for a more rustic feel. Finally, we would recommend adding fairy lights for the ultimate cosy hygge style. They can be used to enhance your outdoor space around the fire pit (whilst you wrap up in blankets and toast marshmallows!) or be added inside the home to give a softer light.

AUTUMN HOME DECOR TIP #4 | Add A Pop Of Pumpkins

Autumn Pumpkins

Adding pumpkins around you're home doesn't have to be spooky! For a chic look, try painting your pumpkins in a pastel or gold shade. Add munchkins and pumpkins to your fireplace, coffee table, bar cart or as a centrepiece display on the dining table.

AUTUMN HOME DECOR TIP #5 | Add Autumn Flowers

Autumn Flowers

Add a pop of seasonal colour with fresh blooms. Bloom & Wild's 'The Hazel' features fresh roses, chrysanthemums and seasonal foliage. It’s perfect for lovers of all things autumn! Do you forget to water your flowers? Why not try pampas grass instead? The feathery plumes add an interesting accent and give your space texture just by throwing them in a tall vase.
