Coronavirus Update


Dear our guests & friends,  

Following the latest Government announcement, we're so excited to be re-opening our doors at The Daffodil on 17th May. We can't wait to welcome you all for your stylish spring or summer break!

As we look out over Grasmere water and see the budding daffodils, peaceful reflections and the quiet buzz of wildlife - we're dreaming of new adventures and experiences we might be enjoying this spring and summer… 

New Bookings 

We are now taking new bookings from 17th May onwards and have added extra flexibility to our rates as we understand your travel plans may need to change.


When you book our Advance Purchase or Early Bird Rates, you will be able to move your booking once up to 2 weeks prior to arrival. If you book our Best Available Rates you can amend or cancel your booking up to 48 hours prior to arrival.

Our Commitment to Cleanlinesskeyboard_arrow_down

Here at The Daffodil, our team members have been trained in enhanced cleaning routines following WHO COVID-19 guidelines. We are paying attention to high-touch areas such as lift buttons and door handles, disinfecting them at regular intervals. Hand alcohol sanitising stations are available in lobbies and corridors. Items such as pens, note pads and information material have been removed from bedrooms.

We have moved our Restaurant into our large function room in order to effectively spread out tables in the Restaurant. You will find distancing floor markers in our receptions and on the ground floor, but we ask that you maintain the social distancing rules when in the rest of the hotel including corridors.

Do I have to wear a face mask?keyboard_arrow_down

Once seated in our Restaurant, Lounge or Terrace you will not be required to wear a mask, but you will be required to wear one to enter and exit the hotel. In our Spa you will be required to wear one in the corridors and into the treatment rooms. You may also be required to wear a mask for part of any treatment, but you will be advised of this by your therapist. You do not need to wear a mask whilst in the Thermal Pool but do need to wear one whilst using the pool loungers. All guests are required to bring their own face mask.

As of 3rd December 2020, guests can only be served alcohol if they have booked a substantial meal with us in either our Lounge or Restaurant, this can include lunch, Afternoon Tea or Dinner. We welcome you for pre-meal drinks up to 1.5 hours before any meal. Last drinks to be ordered before the bill is signed and consumed within one hour. We are offering room service drinks served up until 11pm if ordered before 10pm.

We have an exciting new Room Service offering which includes a Pan-Asian, Street Food inspired menu. We are also offering an extensive range of in-room Breakfast options. Our Restaurant has been moved to our large function room, with all social distancing measures in place. To ensure the safety of both guest and our staff we may at times need to limit the number of bookings we can take. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. In line with the government guidelines we are only accepting tables up to a maximum of 6 people, comprising of one household/ support bubble. We are open between 12.30 - 4pm for non-residents. Please note that our Bar and Restaurant close at 11pm (last orders at 10pm) and all guests must vacate these areas by this time. We’re running table service throughout our Bar and Restaurant, please bear with us if there is any delay to your service. Due to social distancing restrictions, we are only able to take a limited number of guests in our Restaurant. This will be done by booking on a first come first served basis by booking ahead of arrival, all other guests can dine in-room with our Daffodil Eats breakfast. Please note for dinner service, our last sitting is 8.30pm.

Please use our online Book A Table form to make a booking. We look forward to welcoming you to The Daffodil to sample our colourful and contemporary offering!

Our Spa has now re-opened with a reduced Treatment Menu for those that are staying with us. You can enjoy all of our facilities including the Thermal Pool, Sauna and Steam Room. Please note that due to capacity restrictions, 45 minute time slots are available by appointment only. Due to our new cleaning policies, we're unfortunately not able to offer our usual number of treatment slots so we do recommend booking treatments ahead of your arrival. All gift vouchers with expiration dates after 1st March 2020 will be extended until 20th December 2021.
